Contractor key points

This is a quick, plain-English summary of our Contractor Agreement.

It does not replace the full agreement, but it should help explain the main things you’re agreeing to. Please still read the full agreement before signing, and ask us if anything is unclear.

1. The basics 📝

When you do paid work with Queer Salsa, you’re usually working as a self-employed contractor, not an employee.

That means:

• you handle your own tax, National Insurance, and records;
• Queer Salsa does not guarantee regular work;
• you do not have to accept every offer of work;
• each role, class, shift, or project is agreed separately.

2. How work is agreed ✅

We’ll confirm paid work in writing — usually through a booking, email, Notion record, or other written confirmation.

You might do more than one type of work with us. For example:

• teaching;
• hosting;
• steering group work;
• project/admin work.

Each type of work should be recorded separately so payment stays clear and fair.

3. Payment 💸

Queer Salsa pays contractors monthly.
